The partnering of CME and
the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) to offer NYMEX
e-miNYSM energy futures brings new opportunities to
traders at both exchanges - and around the world. Traded
on GLOBEX®, CME's electronic platform, NYMEX e-miNY
energy futures offer the benefits of other E-mini
products - virtually 24-hour access, and price
transparency in a more convenient size - plus the
advantages of the deep and highly liquid NYMEX energy
markets.
expanded opportunities and a wider audience
NYMEX e-miNY energy products - e-miNY Crude Oil and e-miNY Natural Gas - enhance the futures trading arena in powerful ways. They offer expanded market opportunities to current CME customers, and may provide for cross-margining efficiencies when CME and NYMEX or COMEX commodities are combined into a single portfolio.
Equally important, NYMEX e-miNY energy products also open the door to a new audience of individual traders. As smaller-sized, online contracts, accessible even via the Internet with certain connectivity options, NYMEX e-miNY energy futures make it easier for individuals to participate in the highly liquid and volatile energy markets that are so crucial to the global economy.

about these products
NYMEX e-miNY crude oil
Crude oil is the world's most actively traded commodity, and the NYMEX futures contract on light, sweet crude oil is the world's highest-volume futures contract on a physical commodity. Refiners prefer this type of crude oil because it offers high yields of high-value products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil and jet fuel.

NYMEX e-miNY natural gas
Natural gas accounts for nearly a quarter of total U.S. energy consumption, and its market share is expected to grow because of its favorable competitive position in relation to other fuels. Launched in 1990, the NYMEX natural gas futures contract is the fastest growing instrument in that Exchange's history.
